GET CCTV FAQs:
Q. ‘Will the Camera record at night or in the dark?’
A. The camera is equipped with infrared LEDs which do assist with recording in low light conditions. However, to record clear footage in very low light levels, the manufacturer recommends that an independent motion sensor light of 100 watts+ is used – This will get the best results.
Q. What distance will the camera record?
A. The DVR allows you to adjust the focus distance. Depending on light levels, the camera can record detail within 15 meters.
Q. Can the SD card be upgraded?
A. Yes, you can replace the SD with another one up to 1GB in size.
Q. Does the CCTV system record continuously, or video clips?
A. Only clips, you can set the clip length in the settings, up to a maximum of 9 seconds.
Q. How much footage can be recorded on the memory card included with the CCTV?
A. Unfortunately, it is impossible to give an accurate record time, as this depends on many variables (Light levels, quality setting etc), however, we tested the camera and were able to record over 12 hours of footage and a large amount of images without filling the card.
Q. Can I live stream the footage to my iPhone (Or other device)?
A. Unfortunately not, this CCTV system can only record, and is not able to stream footage.
Q. Do I need a TV monitor to use the CCTV?
A. You need to use a monitor of some description to set the camera up initially and playback footage. While the CCTV is in operation, you can choose to keep the monitor on or off.
Q. Can I review the footage/images on my Computer?
A. Yes, you simply plug the SD card into your PC / Laptop; you may need to purchase a SD card reader if your computer does not have one built in (Not sold by This Is It Stores).
Q. Can the system take still images?
A. Yes, you can set the DVR to record images rather than video clips. You can then control the interval between pictures.
Q. How long is the Cable from the DVR to the cameras?
A. Each camera has 4m of cable with a 6 pin connector on the end; this connects to a 15m RJ11 extension cable which goes into the DVR. Each camera has 19 Metres of cable.
