The Core Balance 40cm Balance Board is a highly-effective way to strengthen your core, improve your posture and develop better balance. Widely used by professional athletes for training and rehabilitation, it works by increasing the difficulty of simple moves and exercises.

Designed for safety whilst exercising

When you stand on the balance board, its partially rounded base makes it move around so that you have to constantly readjust your balance. The board is made from lightweight ABS plastic to easily carry around and features a non-slip surface for greater surface grip and safety.

How does the balance board work?

Standing on a balance board constantly challenges your core. The wobbly motion keeps your abdominals firing as you make slight adjustments to keep it balanced and stay upright. You can make balancing more difficult by tilting the board, standing on one leg or attempting exercises.

What are the benefits of using it?

Having to readjust your balance is great for improving your core. Wobble board exercises strengthen stabiliser muscles, reduce strain on limbs and make you less prone to injuries. Its ability to strengthen muscles and improve posture is the reason it’s such a popular physio tool.

Exercise 1: Standing Balance

This is the standard exercise a balance board is used for. Stand on the balance board with your feet hip-width apart. Keeping your knees bent, chest up and core tight, try balancing in the centre of the board. Do 3 sets of 30 seconds and increase as your core strength improves.

Exercise 2: Push-Ups

With your hands gripping the sides of the balance board, place your body in a plank position with your feet spread wider than your hips and your shoulders stacked over your wrists. Slowly lower your chest to the board, keeping your hips lifted and core tight. Do 3 steps of 8 reps.
